Pediatric Orthopaedics

Children’s bones, joints, and muscles are still developing, and orthopaedic problems in children require specialised knowledge and a gentle, child-centred approach.

From birth defects like clubfoot and developmental dysplasia of the hip (DDH) to fractures, limb deformities, and gait abnormalities, early diagnosis and treatment can make a significant difference in a child’s long-term development.

At Gola Fracture & Skin Clinic, Rohini, Dr. Komal Prasad Gola provides expert orthopaedic care for children with a compassionate, family-centred approach.

Frequently Asked Questions

Treatment should ideally begin within the first week of life. The Ponseti method (serial casting) is highly effective and is the gold standard for clubfoot treatment.
Many cases of DDH detected early can be treated with a Pavlik harness or abduction brace. Surgery may be needed in older children or more severe cases.
Flat feet are normal in toddlers and usually resolve by age 5–6. If flat feet persist with symptoms like pain or limping, an orthopaedic evaluation is recommended.

If you have significant pain, swelling, or instability that does not settle within 48–72 hours, you should seek a specialist evaluation.
